FRIENDLY VISITOR PROGRAM

Available Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 11:30am

Each week, senior volunteers visit homebound elders in Methuen.  The main emphasis is socialization and companionship within the home.  Friendly Visitors provide contact with the outside world that many homebound seniors would otherwise go without.  Every effort is made to match up compatible seniors and have lead to some really terrific friendships over the years.  Most visitations occur on a weekly basis and last one hour.

Volunteers sometimes visit at local nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Anyone interested in volunteering or anyone who would like to request a Friendly Visitor for themselves or a family member should contact the Methuen Senior Center at 978-983-8825. Friendly Visitors are required to complete a CORI Form, attend orientation and on-going meetings.
