10/11/06 Licensing Board Minutes
The Methuen Licensing Board met on October 11, 2006 at 7pm in the Second Floor Conference Room 208 of the Searles Building. The following are meeting minutes

Meeting of the Methuen Licensing Board on Wednesday October 11, 2006 at 7:00pm in the Second Floor Conference Room, 41 Pleasant Street. 

Present were Board Members:  Henry Foderaro, John MacLeod and James Piemonte (late).     

Minutes:                               

Mr. MacLeod motioned to approved the minutes from September 13, 2006. All in favor. 

NEW BUSINESS: 

Approved: Sonal Variety, Inc. dba/Rte. 97 House of Pizza, 11 Ayers Village Road applying for a transfer of a Wine and Malt Restaurant and Entertainment license – Manager Yogest R. Patel from JTK, Inc. – John Kakavitsas.Mr. Arthur Pearlman represented Sonal and Yogest Patel.  Mr. Pearlman stated the residence is 17 Arrowwood St. in Methuen.  He also said that he is currently the owner of Valley Liquors in Methuen so that he does have experience in the liquor industry. Mr. Piemonte asked who presently owned the restaurant. Mr. Patel answered Mr. Kakavitsas. Mr. Piemonte asked if there was ever any instances where serving minors were involved? Mr. Patel said that there was one instance at Valley Liquors sold to a minor during a sting by the A.B.C.C. and they were fined. Mr. MacLeod stated just for the record that when alcohol is sold to minors it always falls back on the employees and you are responsible for them.Mr. Piemonte motioned to transfer the license.Mr. MacLeod seconded.All in favor.Approved:               

CT Restaurants, Inc., dba/Nick’s Family Pizza, 246 Broadway, Manager – Craig Farrington applied for a common victualler license September 13, 2006 and is applying to have that application withdrawn. The clerk stated that when she called Nick’s Family Pizza that the license was ready to be picked up, she was told that it fell through. Mr. MacLeod motioned to withdraw the application. Mr. Piemonte seconded. All in favor.Approved:               

Mr. Piemonte motioned to adjourn the meeting. Mr. MacLeod seconded. All in favor.
