Mission Statement: The Office of the City Auditor is responsible for the accurate reporting of all financial transactions pertaining to this municipality. This office prepares its general purpose financial statements using accounting principles which are in conformity with the Uniform Municipal Accounting System promulgated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Revenue. This office prepares the annual budget for submission to the Mayor and in turn to the Methuen City Council. The budget as enacted by the City Council, also establishes that certain appropriations are to be funded by particular revenues.
